Description

          INFO : A promo copy of this very difficult to find 45 from Brisbane outfit 'The Escorts' who initially surfaced in the early 60s as the studio backing sound for other Sunshine label artists including the role of 'house band' for the local version of TV's countdown before calling it a day in 1970 following a National Tour with Normie Rowe. Along the way they cut 3 now very sought after singles with this their debut effort.

CONDITION :

Vinyl : Every now and then one gets a pleasant surprise, such was the case when I gave this a spin fearing the worst as it does look thoroughly enjoyed and then some. Thankfully though it tracks through pleasingly well and (amazingly) way above appearances. I played both sides 4 times (twice with headphones) with disbelief at the quality here. Very minimal lead in/out noise, no skips or loud pops and an awesome sweet sound. If anything I barely detected the very occasional pip even then only noticeable with the headphones though I am pushing 70 and obviously my hearing is inevitably heading south. So .. on looks not that much shy being of a frisbie however you won't be disappointed with the playback as I have heard VG+ records with more blemishes. Overall a hard one to rate fairly and my call is a VG- minimum. Labels :  Clean. Promo sticker on A-side. Sleeve : Original Sunshine cover clean with no writing, obvious creasing or splits. Some brightness has disappeared over time.
