Description
We are offering a rare and collectable original copy of Everclear "Sparkle And Fade" released on Capitol Records catalog number C1 7243 8 30929 1 8.
I worked in the wholesale music business throughout the 1980s and '90s. So I can attest to the fact that everything I say in the following paragraphs is 100% accurate:
This original 1995 LP was pressed in VERY limited quantities.
Remember this was manufactured in the mid 1990's when the major labels were cutting way back on pressing vinyl.
Stores were given 1 chance to place a pre-order for an up-coming release, with no re-orders, and no returns.
And just because the store might have reordered 5 copies of a new release of an LP, they might only have received 1 or 2 total when the shipment arrived…if any,really!
Vinyl in this time period was pressed in minuscule quantities even for the established artists like Pink Floyd, Neil Young, Eric Clapton etc.
There would only ever be one run of the vinyl pressing… based on the pre-orders the labels received,and that's it!
And with most new artists like Everclear it was almost unheard of to have a vinyl format even being offered all… cassette and CD only!
This is a gatefold cover LP (with the shrink wrap still intact) and has the 4 song "Live On The Radio" 7" EP, which is also hyped with a sticker on the front cover shrink wrap.
This copy has been opened, but it has NEVER been played… I opened it to see the colors.
I received this copy from a friend who worked at the Capitol Tower branch in L.A. California when I visited and toured the offices/ studios and the great hall, back in 1995. This was one of the "Gifts" she gave me to remember the day. And what an amazing place and honor it was to see and visit!
The record and cover are MINT PERFECT, with a promo hole in the upper right hand corner of the cover.

We ship on Thursdays only, and only to those people whose payments have been confirmed. PLEASE NOTE: If your auction ends on a Wednesday, and if you want to be included in that week's shipping schedule, we must have your payment in-hand by 9 A.M. ET on Thursday morning.
