This is a fantastic Winel Record Case made in Nottingham and dating to around 1940 and filled with approximately 49, 78 rpm records.I'll remove the records if required. The case is in lovely condition made of solid plywood and covered in black leatherette. It has working lockable clasps and 2 keys. The lining  of the box is in excellent condition and has the original record filing system with all the Winel markings. The leatherette covering is very good but does have a couple of little scrapes. It wouldn't take an expert to repair these little tears so they couldn't be seen. The clasps and locks are in good working order. They were a bit stiff but I sprayed them with a little releasing fluid and they now work perfectly. The handle is in perfect, sound condition. There are two original keys.
I'm not an expert on records, especially 78's but there are 49 in the case. 10 of them have covers and are mainly Gilbert & Sullivan Opera's They are:
The Sorcerer, performed by The D'oyly Carte Opera Company with The New Symphony Orchestra and conducted by Isidore Godfrey on the Decca label X 2. One with L.K. 4070 and one with L.K. 4071 on the bottom.
Iolanthe by The D'oyly Carte, ith chorus orchestra. Conducter, Isidore Godfrey, on Decca X 2. No's LK 4044 & LK 4045.
The Gondoliers. X 2 LK 4016 & LK 4015.
The Mikado X 2 . LK 4010-1
Martyn Green's Gilbert & Sullivan, Lehman Engel conducting columbia operetta chorus and orchestra. Columbia. No. ML 4643.
Thespis. On the Presto Recording Corporation, Paramus, New Jersey.
There are approximately 29 78's in the case all appearing to be mostly Gilbert & Sullivan. All these record are in excellent condition. If you want me to list these just email me.
Of course, if the buyer only wants the case I would have no problem removing them and just sending the empty case with its original filing system, it just seems a shame to split the records up from the case. The cost of post & packing to any UK address is £8.00 for the case only, or £15.00 with the records as they are very heavy. I'm quite happy for the buyer to pick up in person if preferred.
