Description

Artist: Carl Holmes and the Commanders

Tracks: Funky Music c/w Love With Feeling

Details: Recorded/cut at the Nola Penthouse Sound Studios, located within the famed Steinway Building, 111 W. 57th Street, New York. Exact recording year is unknown, but a guess is '66/'67, based upon its lyrical references to the Boogaloo/Shing-A-Ling. These tracks have never surfaced/been issued. Jimi Hendrix was a member of/toured with the Commanders during the summer of '66 on the East Coast. It is unknown whether or not Hendrix is featured on this recording.

Condition: Acetates are created by cutting grooves directly onto soft wax/lacquer on a metal disc. They were not intended to be played frequently. Disc is in good condition. Some wax is missing on the run-in grooves, but none on the playing grooves. Absolutely no skips. Light surface noise here and there. This disc has not been cleaned. Acetate cleaning is a delicate process, so that will be left to the buyer. Generic Nola label displays wear on both sides, as shown.
