Description
This is the original UK LP by The FACES, OOH LA LA, 1973 Stereo 1st Press on the WARNER BROS label K56011
The album comes complete with its original UK 1st issue inner sleeve and the original 1973 UK 1st issue POSTER.
BOTH ARE OFTEN MISSING, SO GREAT TO SEE.
Matrix numbers are, Side 1:- K56011 A1
Side 2:- K56011 B1
The cover photo is of "Gastone" a stage character of Ettore Petrolini an Italian comedian of the 1920's
The cover is designed so that when the top edge is pressed down Gastones eye's would discolour and move to the side, while his jaw dropped into a leering smile. I haven't tried to do this, so not to damage this lovely cover.
The original UK 1st issue gatefold cover is in EX+ condition. The cover is credited as being printed in the USA, this is true and typical of UK Warner Bros LP releases of this time, maybe it was contractual or just that this cover was printed and produced in the USA because of the complexity of the design and then shipped to the UK.
As it is, it's 100% original UK 1st issue COVER.
The spine is clean and perfectly readable. No unwanted writing, no seam splits. The cover maintains all it's original bright vibrant colour, especially inside the gatefold. The soft textured cream in colour cover shows light ageing on the seams edges. nothing visually distracting. A lovely cover, great example!.
The vinyl is in EX+++ condition. The vinyl is gleams with all its original shine and lustre!. The vinyl plays EX+++ / MINT-, playing with superb clarity, playing with superb depth and warmth!
The labels are in MINT- condition, beautifully clean and fresh, no unwanted writing, no scuffs, the centre spindle hole shows no wear.
The original UK 1st issue inner sleeve is in EX condition, clean, no seam splits, no unwanted writing, slightly aged,nice example.
The original UK 1st issue POSTER is in MINT- condition!, super clean, crisp and factory fresh, no stains, no rips, no pin holes, STUNNING condition. Bottom right hand corner, printed says ' Printed in England by Richard Davis Limited'.
