FACES "A NOD IS AS GOOD AS A WINK" 1971 U.S. original Warner Brothers LP of group's 3rd release in original shrink wrap. Rod Stewart, Ron Wood, Ronnie Lane, Ian McLagen & Kenney Jones. Stereo BS 2574.. M-/M

When Steve Marriott left the Small Faces to form Humble Pie, it looked bad for his original group. But the Jeff Beck Group was also imploding at about the same time, so Ronnie Lane, Ian McLagen & Kenney Jones got two for the price of one when Rod Stewart joined on vocals & his mate Ron Wood took over the lead guitar duties. This was their third album together & the sound & image had come together- sort of a workingman's Rolling Stones who put on a great show after downing a few pints down at the local pub. Rod Stewart had also started his solo career but most of the out & out rockers were performed by the group now known as simply the Faces since Rod & Ron were a bit taller than the average height of the original members. They scored their biggest U.S. chart success with "Stay With Me' from this album; it peaked at #17 in January, 1972. "Miss Judy's Farm" is another standout among the 9 good time rock'n'roll tracks. This is the original 1971 U.S. pressing still in the shrink wrap. It has the 1 1/2" round white hype sticker proclaiming "Contains Their Hit 'Stay With Me'" in the upper right corner along with a sale sticker beside it stating "Special $1.99".

Cover looks nearly new in the original shrink wrap except for a neatly clipped corner on the top right & negligible wear along the right edge. Both stickers are in fine shape. No writing, tears or split seams. Overall the cover rates a strong near MINT rating. Record sounds great with no scratches or scuffs. Very few spins on this disc- rated MINT. The green Warner Brothers labels look brand new & prove that it is a 1971 pressing.
