Description
I bought a nice collection of Doo-Wop and Rock from a collector in the Lynchburg area.
Alright Doo-Wop collectors this record is scarce to start with, but a test pressing is Ultra Rare. I have 40 + years in the radio business and I can tell the times I got a test pressing I can count on one hand.
This is a test pressing of "Baby Baby" by the Fairlanes on Radiant Records # 101 from 1964. If you collect Doo-Wop the chances of finding this again in this condition are beyond rare.
I'd grade this Mint- because I don't grade anything perfectly Mint, but I don't think anyone ever played this before I did. It is in superb condition. If you are not happy return it for a full refund!
One of my fellow eBayers alerted me this Sunday morning that some counterfeits of this record came out in New York City in the 1970's. I anwered everything I could about the record and here is what he wrote back.
"The NY bootlegs flip side was different. If it is vinyl (like a record) and not steel plated, you got yourself a winner! The label Radiant was from Newark,NJ. Sounds like you, indeed, have an ultra rare record!"
For everyone's information the test pressing I have is on vinyl and the flip side is Tell Me. Good luck in your bidding and thanks to Frank for the info.
