FAIRPORT CONVENTION – Full House *ORIG Island LP* ILPS 9130 (UK, Stereo, 1970)
Here’s a lovely example of Fairport’s 5th album in its original 1st corrected UK pink island press. I can bring this to you with both near unmarked vinyl and a lovely textured sleeve!
The gatefold, textured, non-laminated sleeve was made in the UK by the E.J Day Group and is a smashing example! Only 1 faint corner crease to the rear – other than this NO creases whatsoever. NO rubbing to either the front or the back panels. Lies totally flat with NO bends, ripples or bumps. Inside gate is lovely. Spine is near perfect with all text fully legible. The only thing which prevents a mint grade is some shelf rubbing to the top and bottom edges and very slight rubs to the spine corners. NO writing, splits, rips or scores. Really pretty and well preserved example which grades a strong and true EX (Excellent).
The pink ‘I’ labels are close to the day they were pressed. Lovely deep colour. No writing, stickers, residue and very little, if any, spindle evidence. Brilliant pair of these iconic labels!
The sharp, medium-heavy vinyl is a lovely example. Just one light scuff to Side 1, other than that I can’t make out any significant markings. Visual grade of M- (Mint Minus). NO scratches, hairlines or embedded dirt. IT HAS BEEN CAREFULLY LISTENED TO and plays great with no nasty snap, crackle or pop. Occasional light tick, NO repetitive clicks. Virtually inaudible surface static may be picked up if you’re listening for digital silence (no point – it’s an analogue pressing!) but really this plays great – minimum EX.
