FALLA - EL AMOR BRUJO
Performed by the Orchestre de la Société des Concerts du Conservatoire conducted by ATAULFO ARGENTA Featuring ANA-MARIA IRIARTE (mezzo-soprano)
One of many, very rare lps featuring Szell, Ansermet, Kletzki, Barbirolli, Krips & Silvestri (amongst others) listed this week, including some "Grails" and Test Pressings.
Extremely rare Test Pressing. This was unreleased in the UK as a 12" - no 33CX release. Dated 16-12-53 and marked "FOR CONSIDERATION" XLX 181-1N
The performance was released in the UK on a 10" as 33C 1004 and in France (with the same stampers) as one side of FCX 217. Possibly the only chance to own this as a UK issue in the way it was meant to be heard.

Sleeve: No production sleeve but it does have original card/linen-edged sleeve
and rare outer brown bag as supplied to the original producer & cutting engineer of this historic session. A superb performance.
Vinyl is EX-/EX A really strong listen with some minor background noise in the quieter moments.
There is small mark at the start of the side which creates a couple of low-level heartbeats, then 15 light tics a minute or so later. Another tiny mark creates four soft tics about 2/3 of the way through the side.
