Description
CLARENCE WILLIAMS was a multi-talented entrepreneur, music publisher, band leader, top session organizer, pianist and vocalist, probably the most successful and prominent Black man in the music business of the 1920s.
For this record, one of Clarence's few purely vocal forays, he prevailed upon his good buddy JAMES P. JOHNSON - who just happened to be the best pianist in New York City - to accompany "FARM HAND PAPA" and "MY WOMAN DONE ME WRONG."
If you don't like Clarence Williams' singing, you surely will go for the sublime piano accompaniment!
This original 1928 "Race" Columbia 14341-D is in solid EE- condition.
