GIRLS ARE OUT TO GET YOU
In 1962 a girl group called The Fascinations were introduced to Curtis Mayfield, who got the group signed to ABC-Paramount, where they released a few singles (written and/or produced by Mayfield) over the next year.
ABC-Paramount lost interest in the Fascinations, but Mayfield never did. His success in 1966 with the Windy C label enabled him to start the Mayfield label, and to sign the Fascinations himself. Several singles followed and this one is from December of 1966. The topside here is the coy soul of “Girls Are Out To Get You” paired with “You’ll Be Sorry.”
As you can obviously see, this is the UK pressing of this on Sue Records. It’s also got the flipside mis-titled as “You Be Sorry.”
