just a note about me and collecting feel free to bypass this and get straight to the listing its just me having a moan:

i am not a huge business,i do record fairs and get lots of overstock thats the reason i do ebay,i dont put lots of blurb about where i got it/who it used to be owned by or how incredibly valuable it is,if you are bidding on it i presume you already know all this,i dont use terms such as minty/final upgrade/keeper copy/archive copy etc etc,i wont be putting tons of information in the listing that keeps you reading for an hour before you get to the grading (if you find it at all) i leave that to all the top boys who get massive amounts for this type of stuff,thats up to them i have better things to do with my time than sit here 19 hours a day,i registered as a business seller because i always get a lot of new cds.i do ebay for the same reason i do the record fairs you meet lots of genuine people and i just love vinyl.i am no expert and nor do i strive to be,the beauty of vinyl is that something always turns up that puts a smile on your face,whilst i dont collect for myself its because i could not afford to not that i didnt want to,seeing the prices vinyl goes for now i am glad i dont and with more importance on the stereo equipment used to play it,my mrs has just bought me a cheap deck for xmas so i can play vinyl again,but it isnt a £5000 floating deck with diamond tipped stylus and carved in solid gold encrusted with diamonds so it wont add massive sums of money to my listings.and with just as much importance on matrix and stamper numbers it has become a minefield for the collector trying to get all the different pressings,if you have the funds to collect properly i congratulate you and can only remain jealous and envious,but a side of me also feels that the sums of money traded on some sites for so called minty first pressings of an album from 1967 make me glad i do this for fun.perhaps its just my imagination or are there more and more copies of so called very limited top rarities turning up lately and always in such fantastic condition ?, or perhaps these copies are just traded amongst the same people to keep the prices up,but that wouldnt be right would it so i am sure that doesnt happen.record collecting seems to be going the same way as antiques they are a commodity to be bought and sold as investments,because would you pay £11,000 for a minty beatles gold stereo and tear then wrapping off then put it on your deck or is it because the taxman wants your money so you just aswell invest it in something.this all sounds bitter and twisted but its just things that get relayed to me by people who visit the record fairs and i agree with most of it.its only worth what somebody is willing to pay for it,thats what i was told when i started getting into records in 1983 and it was fun then,there were record shops all over the place and loads of cheap vinyl to buy and turning up those elusive gems,you would look at the condition of the sleeve and the vinyl and hurridly get your money out,i dont remember taking an hour to read the matrix number or stamper code or trying to find 3 copies in the same shop to see if the sleeve was different, i dont remeber asking the seller if the stains on it were because johnny rotten had urinated on it or if the beer stains were spilt on it at an exclusive set at the dog and duck by the sex pistols,it didnt make any difference what inner sleeve was in it i just wanted it to play,and i suppose thats the difference between me and a proper collector i wasnt interested nor did i care about the subtle differences,i am sure there were people who were astute enough and did there homework on all the different pressings to know what was going to be collectable and i am sure they made far more money than me because i am as poor now as i was then,but i still enjoy it as much as i ever did and will continue to sit on the sidelines of my little collecting world and watch all the big ebay boys make pots of money and rue the day that i wasnt clever enough to take the time to learn it all properly.

a super rare white label test press from the aussie power punk band

i looked on google and found a finished copy that sold on popsike,the matrix number matches this copy,the finished copy was released on method records in australia with the cat number MR4 with the matrix number 13083 printed underneath it,my copy has the 13083 matrix number but i can only presume they had not found a label at the time so it did not carry the MR4 cat number.what makes this even more unique is that all the details written on the paper sleeve are written by david pye,he has wrote a note to the original owner of this copy and signed it inderneath and the hand writing from the note matches all the other writing,it looks like it was signed by fabian byrne aswell in the top right front corner,and it states on the label and the sleeve "crashing car music 1981".on the back of the sleeve is the written names of the band members and what instruments they played.i have just played this copy it sounds superb,it starts off almost like a jangly folk song and then takes off to guitar driven power punk it does this a couple of times through the track and gets more and more upbeat as the track goes on,side 2 starts off with a guitar beat and then the drums kick in and away we go again,it sounds a lot like very early blondie (just my opinion before i get slated)both tracks are great to listen to.i would think this was one of the very first releases of this single and is sure to be on a few wants lists to go along with your finished copy if you have one,this was done in small quantities on a private label.

please not i am presuming this is the test press because it does not carry the mr4 cat number i apologise if its a white label promo copy but information on the bands releases is hard to come by.

never the less any pre finished copy of this single is bound to be rare

condition:

audio.......superb very clear

vinyl......near mint....i cant see any marks at all

sleeve.....paper sleeve is good no tears and all the writing is clearly visible

label.....a bit off white in places but all the writing is clearly visible

the center hole shows virtualy no signs of wear
