RECORD CONDITION:

Both aurally and visually this is a nice clean, shiny, well cared for disc. To find a clean and original pressing of the first Fats Domino album is a scarce enough event as it is, let alone in this incredible shape. The whole album plays with a dense, powerful and intense audio clarity. The power of the music is such that, the occasional pop or click does not impose on your enjoyment. There is a little light surface noise in a couple of places, a dull crackle, never an intrusive hiss. My guess is that this album has been played a few times but, fortunately, it has been handled with the utmost care and will provide the future owner with many hours of aural delight. It has got to grade as at least an EXCELLENT if not something better. It is a pure delight!!!

COVER CONDITION:

That this nearly 50 year old front laminate flip back album cover still grades as a strong EXCELLENT is quite simply incredible!! The whole cover is completely intact and there are no bad marks or areas of abuse. The front cover perfectly displays the cover art, with a nice glossy sheen and only a tiny amount of minor creases near the spine and the edges. The non-laminated rear sleeve is also in excellent shape, it remains totally intact and has no marks other than the faintest circular mark of a record, a factor that is literally ring-wear at its earliest stage and certainly not a serious problem. The top edge and spine are completely smooth and un-scuffed. The bottom edge has one tiny tear in the laminate that extends a little onto the front and back, visible in the photos, a seriously minor point that is literally the only factor preventing this sleeve from getting an even better grade than an excellent! A very well cared for album cover, quite incredible given its half century age!!! Do not miss out on this one!!!
