Brief Artist & Album Info: Faust’s second and last album for Polydor before signing to Virgin. Whereas their first album was issued with everything clear – this time, everything is black – including the labels. So Far is classic experimental Krautrock from these German pioneers of the genre. Very experimental and uncompromising at times but very slightly less challenging than their debut. Along with Can, Faust made great music, and unlike most of the band’s who loved to experiment with sound, Faust never sold out to commercialism - they remained cutting edge, even slightly weird - far too strange and dense for many listeners who refused to even try. Like all fine music of this type it takes time and perseverance, when their music really clicks in, its truly wonderful. Incredible rock music with use of electronics and at times sounding like the other great sound pioneer Frank Zappa. So Far was recorded at Wümme in March 1972 and was produced by Uwe Nettelbeck.

 This copy on offer includes the nine full sized picture inserts. The black wallet sleeve is also here. Each of the inserts is named after the tracks included on the album. The record comes in its black  inner and that very delicate soft paper black unlaminated matt cover. The whole package is in super shape. The black inner sleeve is almost as new and the record is practically the same and sounds fantastic. This scarce UK example will prove incredibly hard to find better and challenging enough to find at all.

The absolute rarity of this album is not to be underestimated. It hardly ever surfaces nowadays. This has a lovely deep glossy sheen!! Hauntingly beautiful songcraft!!! Immense quality prog/psych/folk album that ticks all the right boxes and incredibly hard to find.

BACK IN 1972 WHEN THIS LP WAS FIRST RELEASED, IT ONLY EVER SOLD IN ABSOLUTELY TINY AMOUNTS - AND WAS ALMOST IMMEDIATELY DELETED!!!!  AS A RESULT IT IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND INCREDIBLY HARD TO LOCATE TODAY ESP. COMPLETE WITH ALL INSERTS AND SLEEVES!!!

!!!!A VERY HARD FIND!!! Most have been bought up by collectors!! This is hardly offered these days!!

In all my years this is only the second time I have come across this PROGMONSTER. Sensational sound quality, I have played this through in its entirety and it was a great joy!!! NO skips or jumps. NO clicks , this is really a stunning heavy glossy jet black vinyl .The audio is impeccable. Inspected under an intense light source and angled.

Vinyl: VG++ to EX.  A sensational find!!! I have played this in FULL twice over> The replay is ASTOUNDING!!! I first played for a general listen and a second time for a more detailed observation. One wispy non-feelable hairline on each side, both are non sounding bar two very low level pops.  A great listen on a heavy glossy slab of quality vinyl. Only one light spindle trace indicates that the vinyl has barely been played. NO skips, sticks or jumps. This is an extremely heavy vinyl the way they used to make them before the oil crisis of the early seventies. It weighs in at a respectable 139 gr.

Sleeve: EX+.  A nice black matt sleeve without any wear and just one tiny bottom corner crease (see picture). No wear to the edges either, this sleeve is really stunning. Included are two black inner sleeves. One of them being the envelope for the  inserts. Both are excellent. All inserts are in excellent condition without creases or holes. None of these seem to have been used and have just been inside the envelope for all those years.

ding this album in any condition at all is nearly impossible!!! This is  a great and seriously collectable super album!!  You will buy into a piece of  prog core history.***
