how the grading works, from crappy to perfect:
G(+or-)    VG(+or-)    EX(+or-)    NM(+or-)    MINT
MINT means unopened and looks like it should still be on a store shelf!
drive a new car off the dealer's lot and it's no longer mint.

Just a polite note about grading:   Here at anunderdogg we love our records!  We own thousands of them and listen to them more often than average people watch television.  
We know and appreciate a good, listenable record and would not knowingly misrepresent or hide flaws for an extra nickel.

We don't often come across highly valuable and collectible records, and we'll never get rich with our vinyl, so we have nothing to lose being honest.  So...

Grading of records here is done conservatively, though not scientifically. 

We are aware of the Goldmine standard and pretty much use it as a rough guide.
Still, the joy of records is in the listening (and the handling and the cover art and reading the liner notes and blowing the dust off and cueing the needle) and yes, even hearing some surface noise before the music starts.  So...,
While we take the utmost care of them, we want to enjoy the records, not keep them in a museum.  But we won't knowingly sell a junk record;  after all, we wouldn't want to waste our money that way, so we won't let you waste yours.  So if we say it's VG or better, it's likely something you'll find is worth having and playing.
Your good wisdom will determine at what dollar value.
