Fecal Matter was a short-lived band formed by Kurt Cobain, that would later "give birth" to Nirvana, and also the Melvins.

 

Illiteracy Will Prevail is a rare tape that was never fully shared .

 

Here compiled are the best versions (remasters) of each track available .

The Fecal Matter version of Spank Thru is taken from the 'Sliver: The Best of the Box'

 

Compiled here are the seven tracks as described on the tape cover plus three tracks that aren't on the tape tracklisting (but probably were on that tape anyway) and are in good quality.

'Reefer Madness Excerpts' (aka. 'Commercials') was probably just after 'Sound Of Dentage' on the real demo tape.

Finally added are five Unknown songs (with their nickname). 

 

'Bambi Slaughter' isn't the same song as Nirvana's 'Bambi Slaughter', while 'Spank Thru' and 'Downer' are very similar to their Nirvana equivalent. 'Anorexorcist'

here is also different from Nirvana's song but near the end of the track you can easily recognize it

; this track might actually be mixed with another song nicknamed 'Love My Family'.
