WHY RUN AWAY / MY LUCKY DAY / LA BARCA A VELA / EN LA MISMA PLAYA ... 7-inch, 45rpm EP single by FERNANDO DUERI / vocals by FERNANDO AND THE REFLECTIONS. Original Italian private pressing on the SONOR label (N 32021), from circa early '70s. Beautiful, strange and intoxicating music and vocals by this mysterious group. Still a practically unknown item in Italy. A psychedelic flower power mix of folk / soft rock and sunshine pop with vocals (sung in English) a la Wickerman horror film soundtrack on the stoned WHY RUN AWAY theme. Bewitching, groovy and lightly spooky atmospheres with Fernando and his Reflections singing a beautifully crafted, love song. Sophisticated vocal phrasing (with female backing) / mellow jazzy horn section / hippie flute and psych pop rhythms of the period. MY LUCKY DAY is also off-kilter / quirky sounding and most probably inspired by The Beatles. Superb, picture sleeve artwork with Deliverance / Southern Comfort backwater vibe. Seldom comes up for sale. Very rare EP!!!
Our record grading: SEALED / M- / VG++ / VG+ / VG
Vinyl is in strong VG+ condition with some scuffs and hairlines. Surface noises / soft pops / ticks (mostly to 'La Barca A Vela' and 'En La Misma Playa' but these themes are not important). The card picture sleeve is in strong VG++ condition overall with a little ring wear and ring creasing from storage. A few small wear marks to edges. Very rare EP!!!
