Ein früher Klassiker aus der Zusammenarbeit von Decca und RCA, dessen Toningenieur kein anderer war als Kenneth Wilkinson, der derart zum Synonym für den DECCA-Klang wurde, dass er in Rente ging, als PolyGram 1980 die Firma übernahm. Werke von Grieg und Sibelius vom zwischenzeitlich verstorbenen großen Charles Mackerras und dem Londoner Symphonie-Orchester. Die Streicher klingen hier kühl und frisch und extrem transparent, von wundervollem innerem Detailreichtum zwischen den Chören.

An early classic for Decca/RCA engineered by none other than Kenneth Wilkinson, who became so closely identified with the DECCA sound that he retired when PolyGram acquired the company in 1980. Music of Grieg & Sibelius from the late great Charles Mackerras and the London Symphony Orchestra. The strings here are cool, crisp and extremely transparent with wonderful inner detail within the choirs.
