Could You Understand Me
Reissue LP released on Fire Records. Originally released in 1973, this reissue is from the late ’80s or early ’90s.
Good grief! FUZZ. Don't you love it? These guys do. Or, should we say did, since this was recorded back in 1973. Fire were a power trio from Yugoslavia, relocated for the purposes of playing and recording to Holland. Could You Understand Me is the only album they made -- though they cranked enuff fuzz guitar on this sufficient for ten albums! This album BURNS (as per their name) with heavy duty psych guitar mayhem. The last and gnarliest track here is even called "Flames". It's an instrumental, nearly nine minutes of extremely distorted, repetitive, pedals mashed, goin' for broke brainmelt. Dunno how they recorded it, musta done something wrong, but it's brilliant. They can also pen a decent tune, with the title track fer instance having a nice melodic element amidst the fuzz riffage. Their influences were most likely Hendrix and Cream and possibly Blue Cheer.

Here’s the review from Dag Asbjørnsen’s Scented Gardens of the Mind: “This [Yugoslavian] trio lived in the Netherlands when they recorded Could You Understand Me for a local label. This is simply one of the best and most violent power trio albums ever made, featuring a fuzz guitar sound hardly surpassed even by Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Liberman or High Tide [or Blue Cheer]. The seven tracks cover the whole spectrum of guitar onslaught from fast-moving hard-rock songs to the 13-minute instrumental inferno title track. That particular track is so powerful that the album should be issued with a warning sign.” Aquarius Records calls the album “heavy duty psych guitar mayhem.” Did I mention there’s some fuzz guitar on this album?

We offer combined shipping on all LPs / 12" Vinyls: our shipping rates are listed above. HOWEVER shipping packages that weigh more than 2kg is VERY expensive. Therefore we can only offer combined shipping up to a maximum of SEVEN (7) LPs / 12" vinyls. Any extra purchases will be invoiced, packaged and shipped separately.

PAYMENT
I would appreciate payment within seven days of the auction’s end. If you want to bid on more of my auctions ending a week later please inform me. I will wait and issue a combined invoice at the close of the second week’s auctions.
However, I am no longer willing to carry combined transactions beyond two weeks and in these cases would appreciate payment promptly after the close of the second week’s auctions.
I am sorry to have to introduce these measures – I always try to be patient and allow buyers to bid on extra auctions and / or delay payment. Unfortunately some buyers have been stretching out transactions to unacceptable lengths so I feel I have no option but to limit ‘carried over’ transactions to two weeks.
