Fish : Vigil In A Wilderness Of Mirrors A2 / B1 1st Press 1990 (Signed)
This first pressing plays to a very high standard with only some static at the start of each side which does not last long. Aside from that the audio is stunning with hardly any other intrusion - the clarity, depth and power is very impressive. The vinyl is in great condition also and clearly has not been played very much.
The cover has been SIGNED by the big man himself and has only a little shelf wear, I think Ex- is fair. The original inner sleeve is in superb condition.
This is one of the very early first pressings with the A2/B1 matrix and the pointy 'B' etched on the S1 run off.
EMD 1015 // A-2-1- D (Pointy B etched) // EMD 1015 B-1- D
The audio on S1 is Mint(-) (T1 opening section VG+)
The audio on S2 is Mint(-) (T1 opening section VG then Near Mint-)
The gatefold is Ex- The inner sleeve is Near Mint
The labels are Mint-
Visual description
The vinyl is in superb condition and still has a strong glossy sheen with no marks or scratches. Under a bright light I can only see a small number of ultra faint hairlines and none are obvious, it is very clean. The labels are practically as new with only a couple of tiny and barely visible spindle traces on S1.
Play Grading
The intro on the classic 'Vigil' does have some static but it is not loud and decreases considerably by the time Fish comes in. The opening vocal plays very clearly with only minimal static and the following I don't know the score anymore vocal is superb. The first chorus also plays with stunning quality and it continues in much the same way. The 'louder' vocal sections are so strong and clear, they could not play any better. The quiet end vocal has a handful of very quiet ticks at the beginning but the remainder plays with great clarity. The opening section is VG+ but the rest is Near Mint for sure.
'Big Wedge' plays with real power and depth through every section and there is no intrusion. Not one tick, clicks, pops or static the playback is flawless and that includes the fade out. Mint
'State Of Mind' again plays with stunning precision from start to finish with not so much as a dust tick. Another Mint track.
'The Company' closes S1 in fine style with superb audio throughout. The playback is so clean and 'fresh' for a final track and there is no distortion on the top end. There is just one barely audible static on the first vocal but you could easily miss it! Another classic from Fish and Mint is still very much deserved.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
'A Gentleman's Excuse Me' again has some static on the quiet intro but as per S1 this has largely disappeared by the time the opening vocal begins. The first verse has only minimal static and thereafter plays so well with barely any intrusion. The odd static sound here and there but nothing intrusive. In fact the second half plays with stunning clarity - there is no background at all, it plays beautifully. I will grade the intro / first part of vocal as VG and the rest as Near Mint-
The intro on 'Family Business' has barely any static and the entire opening vocal passage is 'as new'. The mid instrumental is just as strong and the remainder is of the same high end standard. The end vocal is quiet of course and yet the clarity of sound is superb. Mint-
There is a tick and a static click in the dead wax and then the intro on 'View From The Hill' plays perfectly. The opening vocal is just as impressive and as the volume increases the audio is out of this world! The chorus is STUNNING and it continues to play with tremendous power and definition. Gers mid solo is superb and there is no interference on the remainder. The quiet ending has no background at all. This is as strong a version that you could wish for and Mint is richly deserved. 'Cliche' is an absolute classic and it does not disappoint! The low key intro plays with impeccable clarity and Fish's opening vocal is equal to that. As Brzezicki's drums come in the playback is faultless as is the next vocal. From then on it plays with phenomenal audio and you'll be pleased to hear you can turn it up to max without fear of distortion! The audio definition and separation is stunning i.e. every note so sharp and precise, you miss nothing. The quieter vocal The best way etc is 'as new' and the closing section is outstanding. A stunning version with sublime audio quality and it has to grade as Mint I cannot fault it.
The Gatefold & Inner Sleeve
The signed cover is in excellent condition with not too much wear. Three of the edges are very clean and only the bottom edge of the back cover has a small area of wear in the centre. Surface wear you could say that hasn't quite resulted in a split. The wide spine is in superb shape with only minimal rubbing on the bottom corner and the other corners have barely any wear. The opening edge has only minimal wear and the front cover is in excellent order with only a couple of small edge creases next to the spine and a minor amount of fading / wear top right due to a small sticker removal. On the back cover you can see a small amount of wear on the bottom right corner a little 'crimping' on the left edge near the top. The inside of the gatefold is in lovely condition with no wear.
The original die-cut inner sleeve is in superb condition with no side splits, tears or marking and barely any creasing.

Postage & Packaging
I will only send items items worldwide via tracked shipping. This provides 'peace of mind' in case of loss or damage. The shipping costs are shown below and combined shipping is always offered. Any over-payment will always be refunded.
The Royal Mail only insure up to a value of £250 so if an item sells for more it may be wise to use a courier service (e.g. Parcelforce or DPD). An extra insurance premium will be required but I will not know the exact amount until the final sale price is known. Because of this I will sometimes have to estimate the cost and this will be shown in the listing. Please wait for the invoice before making payment and if you have any questions please feel free to ask. Many thanks.
All vinyls are packaged in strong over-sized custom made mailers with plenty of extra cardboard protection. They are placed inside separate poly-lined inners outside the cover so as to avoid seam splits in transit and then placed inside a PVC sleeve to provide even more protection. I pride myself on my high quality packaging as my feed confirms and if any customer has any specific requirements I am more than happy to help.
The mailers I use cost £1.00 each and I will use anything between 3-5 cardboard stiffeners which cost approx £0.18 each. There is also the cost of the poly-lined inner and PVC sleeve to consider, it all adds up! Not forgetting that eBay take 10% of the shipping fee also!!
