FIVE AMERICANS-45-“I’m Feeling O.K.” b/w “Slippin’ & Slidin’”-Jetstar Records #JS-105-DJ Issue-MONSTER and KILLER-yes HOLY GRAIL! 1966 Dallas TEXAS Garage-Punk. Yes-the same guys that did all the Abnak hits like “Zip Code” et al…this is their SECOND and deadliest record-the band was still just FIVE AMERICANS, no ‘The’ in the name—most of you know this from assorted comps (TEXAS FLASHBACK in particular), if not, A side has all the elements: ominous Vox Continental organ in the mix, guitar dominated, KILLER Lead guitar break, great vocals, on the guttural side. B side is a DEADLY FUZZ guitar driven version of the LITTLE RICHARD classic, savage guitar, guttural vocal …. Totally unlike their ‘pop’ hits and later albums (which are great but in a different mode). TWO KILLER and SAVAGE lead guitar breaks. Holy Grail really. Monster 2-sider.
Condition: Record is around VG- or slightly better…some light wear; A side has one or 2 slight & light surface scratches visible in certain light angles, really nothing, but are visible in some light angles; B side has 2 surface scuffs visible in certain light angles…Has some slightly obvious background noise at times, on the opening of the A side in particular, but due to the LOUD content most is covered.
Label clean both sides.
