HERE, in all his Gallic Glory, is none other than MAURICE CHEVALIER (1889 - 1972), "The Good Frenchman," who crossed the Atlantic to become a Box Office sensation in these United States between 1929 and 1935.  Such was his insouciant charm, his insinuating baritone voice, his million-watt smile, his jaunty Devil-May-Care Straw Hat Angle, his Goyishe good looks, that he essentially ruled the movies during his entire stay.  Producers scrambled to find and sign other European talent (Carl Brisson, Anna Sten, etc. etc.), hoping to catch that brass ring, but none of them could shine, much less fit into, Chevalier's shoes.   

Herewith we present no less than FIVE of Chevalier's Victor records, all in lovely (E to E+) condition. A portfolio, if you please, of his early hits:

ALL these songs were big successes when they first appeared; The Marx Brothers gave "You Brought a New Kind of Love to Me" a special notoriety in "Monkey Business," when each claimed to be Maurice Chevalier to clueless U.S. Customs officials by singing it, with Harpo miming to Maurice's record! - Yes, another copy of the SAME one I'm offering.

These records come from my private collection, which I have been accumulating since 1967, and now am downsizing!  My highest priority in these eBay auctions is to give you the best possible idea of a record’s true condition and aesthetic value.  I always post at least four clear images, showing the record fore and aft, a close-up of the label, and the whole disc, warts and all.  If my purple prose won’t cut it, the pictures will!  Shipping is done with expert care.
