FLAMING YOUTH

SIDE A:     GUIAME, ORION

                  (Guide Me, Orion)

SIDE B:     DE AHORA EN ADELANTE

                  (From Now On)

MEGARARE and Hard-To-Find original Fontana Records very first Stereo press released by Fontana Records, made and distributed in Chile in 1970 by Philips Chilena (Philips Records), licensed from Fontana Records, England, through Fontana Records, Holland, catalog number 262.026, with hand etched matrix numbers 262026-A EB-CD in Side 1 and 262026-B EB-CD in Side 2, with traditional grey (?)/silver Fontana Records labels, with 3-prong push-out center. Yes, Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile!!!

“Guide Me, Orion” was released in the UK in October 1969 and early 1970 we got this single released here in Chile. Song titles are written in Spanish, translated to Spanish, with full credits for songwriters and play time of each song. It’s interesting to notice that in both labels it’s informed the origin of the recordings from “Fontana England” and it’s also informed the Dutch Fontana Records catalog number, “262.026 TF”, because this Chilean press is licensed from Fontana Records, Holland. If you know these songs you could have already noticed that in this Chilean press the song title of song “From Now On (Immortal Invisible)” is shortened to “From Now On”, without the part between brackets. You can see and compare with original English and Dutch issues in these links: https://www.discogs.com/es/Flaming-Youth-Guide-Me-Orion/release/2988486 and https://www.discogs.com/es/Flaming-Youth-Guide-Me-Orion/release/2722988. So, here you have the chance to get and own this MEGARARE PRESS of this debut single by the band Flaming Youth, with a young pre-Genesis Phil Collins, a record rarely seen and auctioned here in eBay only a pair of times before!!! WOW!!! A MUST TO HAVE for all fans, lovers and collectors of Flaming Youth, Genesis and Phil Collins!!!

This record doesn’t have a cover. The record is in VG- or VG condition both sides, still glossy and clean, but with loads and loads of scuffs, light hairlines and many soft scratches of all sizes and in all directions, which don’t affect play at all, with the push-out center intact. Labels are in nice VG or VG+ condition both sides, clear and clean, with some spindle hole wear, the name of some past owner written in both sides, some small tears and some faint discoloration. The sound is in strong VG or VG+ condition both sides, loud, clear and clean, virtually no background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), with constant soft crackles and some occasional light clicks and pops here and there, which don’t cause major distraction from the still loud and clear sound this record keeps from the beginning to the end. Overall, sure this record is not for Minty minds or audiophiles, but sure it’s still a record with a nice look, clean labels and a very decent and respectable sound quality after about 48 years, which won’t disappoint anyone!!! And keep in mind this is a record rarely seen, not many copies were pressed in Chile and it has only been auctioned here in eBay a pair of times before. Yes, Sirs, what a FIND!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the labels and cover in detail. WOW!!!

Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. You know South American records aren’t easy to get in good conditions, so HAPPY BIDDING and don’t let this record to go away… you could never see a so good copy of this record again… if you are lucky enough to see even another copy again…

Thanks for watching and bidding, good luck and best regards from Chile

We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

FEEDBACK

We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for. And we expect to receive a positive feedback from buyers who receive the records immediately after they have got the records.

IMPORTANT TO READ

We are not responsible for all the taxes, duties, fees you could have to pay in your country, but I always declare the records as gift.

If you have some doubt or question feel free to contact us, we will be glad to answer all that you want to know about this item.
