FLEECE Music of the Hounds PRIVATE UK FOLK Storm LP 70's Yorkshire fox-hunting
Original UK private pressing LP from the 1970's on Storm Records (SR 3306).Fleece were a folk group from the Leeds/Bradford area of Yorkshire, England, and often performed at folk nights at the Fleece Inn, Addingham, whence their name. The hunt secretary of the Airedale Beagles who were based nearby heard them playing there one night and so came about their association and this album. Their vocal talents and innovative arrangements have combined to make a refreshing departure from traditional hunting song presentation. The group are no more, and neither is the pub; the landlord recently burnt it down to claim on the insurance, which didn't go too well as it landed him a prison sentence! The Airedale Beagles are still active and hunting within the law in that area.
Side 1, "A Day in the Fields with the Airedale Beagles", features spoken work and field recordings of the Airedale Beagles on a fox hunt.

Comes in original picture sleeve, has original plain paper inner sleeve, and comes complete with a foldout insert containing notes on the history of the Airedale Beagles, photos and song lyrics.
Vinyl in near mint condition.
Sleeve in excellent condition.
Insert is nicely clean and tidy.
