HOLD ON / REFLECTIONS OF CHARLES BROWN
1967 UK Columbia DB 8226.
This superb rare UK 45 Is mostly sought for the brilliant B-Side. The A-Side Is a excellent chilled beat Hammond track, pretty similar to that of 'Procol Harem's' hit single 'A Whiter Shade Of Pale'. But, the B-Side Is a really fantastic heavy pounding Psych Freakbeat track, with a superb guitar solo. 'Sharon Tandy with The Fleur De Lys' released a great version of this track on the Atlantic record label a year later - in 1968, but this rawer heavier sounding 'Rupert's People (AKA The Fleur De Lys)' version, Is even better.
The vinyl has a really nice original clean glossy sheen, there are just a couple of very light surface lines / marks, nothing nasty or deep. The A-Side plays with just a tiny amount of background noise, actually barely anything at all, & the brilliant B-Side plays & sounds just about perfect throughout, sounds amazing, with no lessening In the sound quality at all, & really nice clean playing copy.
The labels are excellent & clean, showing barely any signs of use.
The original Columbia records paper cover only grades good. Still In one piece, but, with a couple of small rips, & a small sticker removal mark front / top / right.
