The line-up of this US Seattle-based rock group included Rich Dangel, Joe Johansen, Joe Johnson and Michael Marinelli.
Their sole album, released in 1969, showcased an exciting twin-lead guitar assault and mixed exciting original material with rearranged cover versions, including a rousing rendition of the Beatles’ ‘Hey Jude’ and a compulsive medley of the Byrds’ ‘Eight Miles High’ and the Rolling Stones’ ‘Paint It, Black’.
However, despite their undoubted skills, and the approbation of then-influential English disc jockey, Simon Stable, who penned enthusiastic liner notes on the UK release, Floating Bridge made little commercial headway.
Side 1:
Crackshot (7:00)
Hey Jude (6:12)
Watch Your Step (4:00)
Three Minutes & Ten Seconds Blues (3:10)
Side 2:
Brought Up Wrong (3:47)
Eight Miles High - Paint It Black (5:35)
You've Got The Power (3:40)
Hello Mr. Jaybird (2:36)
Don't Mean A Thing (2:14)
LABELS: EXCELLENT
Clean, unmarked labels which carry quite a few traces and a small amount of hole wear
VINYL Visual: EXCELLENT
Both surfaces retain their sheen but numerous hairlines are visible on both side however none of these have any impact on the sound
VINYL Audio: NEAR MINT
Plays beautifully throughout with little to fault the deep, rich, warm and heavy sound.
Well played but clearly only ever on a top end system as there are no scratches, loud clicks, ticks or pops or any sign of groove wear or distortion.
Just a touch of low-level surface noted on one or two of the track divisions
SLEEVE: VERY GOOD-
The thin single cover is well worn and a bit grubby on the back but the spine text is still clear
