12" vintage 78 rpm record on the Melotone Label This recording was privately produced by Mme. Jenkins and is rarely available.
Side 1: Queen of the Night Aria from The Magic Flute recorded in May 1940. Side 2: Serenata Mexicana, written for Mme. Jenkins by Mr. McMoon and recorded in May 1940. Sung by Florence Foster Jenkins Cosme McMoon, piano

RECORDED 5/30 In the 1940s, New York socialite Florence Foster Jenkins dreamed of becoming a great opera singer. Unfortunately, her ambition far exceeded her talent, but she pursued her dream nonetheless. She hired pianist Cosme McMoon to accompany her as she prepared for a solo concert at Carnegie Hall.
Jenkins made 5 records between 1941 and 1944. These were privately produced by the Meltone Recording Studio as "Your portrait in sound".The number of records pressed is apparently unknown but was certainly very limited since these were primarily made for Jenkins to give to friends. They were not generally available in stores, aside perhaps from the Gramophone Store in NYC, who described one of the recordings as “a most unusual record which must be heard to be believed”.
The only professional audio recordings of Jenkins consist of nine selections on five 78rpm records (Melotone Recording Studio, New York City), produced by Jenkins herself, at her own expense.These include four arias from operas by Mozart, Delibes, Johann Strauss II, and Felicien David, and five art songs, two written for Jenkins by her accompanist, Cosmé McMoon.
