FLOWER TRAVELLING BAND  "Satori" rare Canadian lp!

1971/Cdn/GRT 9230-1005….here’s a rare original Canadian pressing of this rare Japanese heavy psych lp. The gatefold cover is in nice VG+ condition, there is very light general storage wear, light corner, spotty seam wear, 2” split bottom seam at center, 2” split on back cover at left side but just looks like a crack in the paper, no delete, writing or other issues and looks nice. The vinyl is in strong VG+ to VG++ condition with a few light sleeve scuffs, there is a small pressing bubble on the first track side two that makes a light thud for approx 10 revolutions, no spkips or jumps caused from it, there are also a few small grit scratches at the end of the same track, they produce some minor light crackle right at the very end of the track, there is also some light noise/crackle between tracks, generally the record plays clean with nice fidelity, and this is a different mix to the Japanese issue! Clean labels show only a couple of very light spindle marks. A nice copy of this rare lp! Please check my auctions for other rock, and psych lp’s, good luck and thanks for looking!

"Satori" is the second album, after they had changed their name. It contains five long songs, titled "Satori Part I-V". The whole album had a very special atmosphere. It's not easy to describe, maybe mystical, dark and melancholic are some words I like to drop. In some songs, as in "Satori Part I", they play some kind of a proto epic Doom, brutal heavy riffs with nice tempo-changes. The clear and high voice of singer Joe completes this great song. But it's different to BLACK SABBATH. I think, you can hear, that FLOWER TRAVELLIN' BAND are strongly influenced through ancient Japanese/Eastern music. Like the second song "Satori II" , an instrumental, which starts with a hypnotic psychedelic guitarsound and then turns into a instrumental part with Eastern percussion. But the song doesn't "freak-out" into a endless jam. The band played still very compact. "Satori III" is a very doomy instrumental. The song is like a crossover between Doom/Heavyrock and this typical ancient touch. It changes into a heavy groovy part which goes into something experimental and then back to the opening theme with an oriental-like ending. Really fantastic! "Satori IV"starts more progressive to change then into a groovy Blues part with a harmonica. Joe had a very unique vocal-style on "Satori Part V", maybe not everybodys flavour. The album closes with this song, that goes more in it the Heavy-Prog direction.

MINT: as stated with no defects

NEAR MINT: as stated near Mint!, or Mint Minus, same thing, very clean with no defect to sound or visual appearance, one scuff or mark may be permitted but it will be mentioned in the description, a near Mint record looks and plays very clean

EXCELLENT: not much below near Mint, may have a delete hole and/or a minor defect or two not visually detracting from the cover, the vinyl will appear shiny and in clean condition with very minor defects not affecting the sound, still very clean and very collectable!

VG++ still a very nice copy with minimal cover wear and/or delete/splits, still visually appealing, the vinyl will retain it's original gloss and can have some minor scuffs/scratches that don't affect play very much

VG+ a little more cover/ring wear and delete, splits etc., the vinyl will still retain much original gloss with a bit more scuffs and/or scratches I may list a very rare or desirable item with a lower grade, I will try to list all defects, both cover and vinyl no matter the condition, I also play grade the records on high end equipment and will give an honest play grade as well as visual grade, considering the number of records I buy on line my grading is very conservative and fair.
