Review: Undoubtedly Foghat's finest album, 1975's FOOL FOR THE CITY, could cruise along on the strength of the band's biggest and best single, "Slow Ride," alone. In addition to that choogling stoner classic, however, the record also finds the bluesy British rock group offering up the fist-pumping, arena-worthy title track and a oddly funky version of Robert Johnson's "Terraplane Blues," not to mention the uncharacteristically melancholy "Take It or Leave It." Throughout the eclectic song selection, frontman Lonesome Dave Peverett leads the ensemble with assurance, making sure that even the lesser-known tunes are engaging (see the rollicking "My Babe").
