Rare Original UK LP released on Topic Records in 1966. 1st UK pressing on the Dark Blue label with Silver writing and complete with Insert.
Sandwiched between Yugoslavia and Greece, part Christian and part Muslim, Albania is a tiny land with a rich and ancient musical culture. These are fine recordings by A.L. Lloyd of songs, dances, and instrumentals, among them bagpipe, flutes, and lutes. Given the country's beleaguered history, the vocals include many epic ballads, old and new.
