Description
You are viewing the following listing:
Artist: John Martyn
Title: ‘Live at Leeds’
Label: Island
Barcode: N/A
Product code: ILPS 9343
Matrix numbers machine stamped: ILPS 9343 A-1 / ILPS 9343 B-3
Release date: 12 September 1975
Format: The first UK pressing of John Martyn’s Live at Leeds is one of the most unusual, collectible, and myth‑laden releases in British folk‑rock. It wasn’t a normal Island Records issue — it was a self‑released, mail‑order‑only LP, normally hand‑numbered by Martyn himself. Availability was mail‑order only, and sold directly by John Martyn, with a pressing quantity commonly cited as ~10,000 copies, but only a portion were numbered. Please note this copy is un-numbered. This is a super rare copy that includes signatures from both John & Beverley Martyn, with a personal message. John has written ‘Sorry to be so long’ and ‘John’, and Beverley has added her full name. Both have signed in a dark grey ink with very minor smudging. A stunning super rare set of signatures which I am graded 7/10 for ink coverage and definition due to the very minor smudging.
Condition: the sleeve is in a plain white ‘bootleg-style’ card sleeve with black print. Sleeve is marked ILPS 9343. Sleeve is in very good plus (+) condition with very minor creasing, minor rubbing and minor age yellowing and minimal grubbiness. Plain inner sleeve is in excellent minus (-) with minor age yellowing and minimal creasing. The vinyl looks excellent condition with very minor plays and minor hairlines. Please note there is a pressing issue with this copy of the vinyl and it ‘sticks’ on the track ‘Solid Air’. I have tried washing the record but to no avail it still sticks!
The intrinsic value of the listing is in the super rare, signed sleeve and please assume that the record supplied is an artefact only and useful should you wish to end up mounting, framing and glazing this item.
Shipping: International buyers should note that I will ship anything glazed by UPS international tracked and signed as they offer a superb service, and everything arrives quickly and intact! Please only bid if you are prepared to pay for UPS shipping costs.
International buyers including EU please note: *If you are ordering from outside of the UK, please be aware that that goods may be subject to import VAT when they arrive from the UK*
