Bookends

record is nice VG  lite marks, original Columbia inner sleeve

cover is VG++ still in shrink, stereo sticker on top, hype sticker, poster is like new

"BOOKENDS" 1968 ORIGINAL MONO US COLUMBIA KCL-2729 WITH POSTER!

MEGA-RARE MONO US, THE FIRST PRESSING OF THE CLASSIC LP, AND THE FINAL SIMON & GARFUNKEL LP ISSUED IN MONO.  1968 WAS A VERY BAD YEAR FOR THE MONO LP, WITH CUT-OUT BINS AND RECALLS PRETTY MUCH RUINING THE DAY FOR THOSE OF US WHO ADORED OUR MONO RECORDS! THE EARLY STEREO VERSIONS OF ROCK ALBUMS ALL PRETTY MUCH SUCKED IN COMPARISON, SINCE TO GET A GREAT MONO MIX THE PRODUCERS & ARTITS HAD TO DEVOTE THE MOST ATTENTION TO THAT MIX, WHEREAS AT LEAST UNTIL "SERGEANT PEPPER" STEREO MIXES WERE AN AFTERTHOUGHT, IF GIVEN ANY THOUGHT AT ALL. SO SHOULD WE BLAME THE BEATLES FOR THE DEMISE OF MONO...???

RECORD GRADING:

Mint- (Near Mint): Like new, looks unplayed.

VG++: A few very faint surface marks, nothing that will affect play

VG+: A few more marks than a VG++.  Used but not abused.

VG: Light scuffs and light scratches, there will be light surface wear to the record. Expect some light surface noise in parts or a few clicks or pops here and there. 

VG-: The record may have some scratches that will be deep enough to feel. Audible clicks and pops may be consistently present, but no skips.

G+: A record that has been played and not taken care of.  Constant background noise will be present.  Buyer should view records with this grade as filler copies.
