Description
FOREST! Don't remember these guys? This was thier debut album released on Harvest in 1969 when Harvest was still a very young record company. In fact this was Harvest's tenth release. FOREST are somewhat reminiscent of The Incredible String Band but far weirder (which is a good thing). Partly improvised and partly structured from some strange sculpted imagery in someone's head, FOREST is not easy to pigeon - hole. At times they can sound like Comus or Dr. Strangely Strange but they do succeed in getting down a vibe that is absurdley close to nature. This is one of the essential ingredients of British Folk but don't let that scare you! Although they are all acoustic with 12 String guitars and flutes, percussion and light airy arrangements, you'd swear you were sitting in a field with the Archbishop of Canterbury and Carlos Castenada discussing the many colored varities of flowers you just ingested before they landed there.... Yeah...its a very trippy album.
Condition: Vinyl > VG- (A few light scratches here and there but side two has one short bad one. There are no skips but there are a few pops and clicks on side two. There is surface noise also but I've listened to it for years like that and it never really bothered me because the album is so unusual even for my tastes. ) COVER: > VG (Just a punch hole in the top right hand corner and some minimal ringwear. There is some 'foxing' in the center of the gatefold but it is not very noticible. The colors of the cover painting still look great.

This charge covers the cost of shipping through the USPS, Insurance, and for the shipping and packing materials. I'm not a seller trying to squeeze out more profit from a S/H Charge. Please note that S/H charge will be more if you order multiple items (more than 4 records). I am meticulous about packing records for shipment and use record mailers with flats. I seperate the record from the cover to avoid seam splits and each record jacket comes covered in a new poly sleeve.
