Forest : Full Circle A-2G / B-2G 1st Press 1970 Harvest No EMI Logo
This very collectable and relatively rare first pressing plays with superb audio for the vast majority. The clarity, depth and resonance of the audio is high end indeed and I cannot emphasise enough just how well it plays! There is one small scratch on S2 which does result in some interference but it's a short track and doesn't last too long. The rest of the album is STUNNING! There is no background static and the 'sound' is so clean and fresh.
The cover is in excellent condition with not too much shelf wear and the original inner is super clean also.
In my opinion this is the stronger of the two Forest LPs with much stronger melodies and a greater variety of sound. A genuine classic in my opinion hence why it is so collectable. This first pressing was not pressed in vast numbers and is one of the earliest of the 'press' with a single R stamper on each side. There is of course no EMI logo on the labels

Visual description
The vinyl is in excellent condition overall and still holds a strong glossy sheen. There are some faint hairlines and just very minor mottling in a couple of small sections but this is superficial and has no affect on the superb audio. As stated S2 does have a small scratch but this is really the only negative. The EMI Harvest labels do have some spindle wear but are otherwise unmarked.
Play grading
The intro on 'Hawk The Hawker' plays with stunning clarity and the opening vocal section is equal to that. This album has more of a country 'feel' to it and that is certainly the case on this track. It continues to play with a clarity and warmth that just could not be any better and the instrumental section is a prime example of that. Honestly the sonic quality here is just superb! Unquestionably a Mint start to the album and that includes the fade out also.
'Bluebell Dance' has just a hint of barely audible static at the start but you hardly notice it as it is so quiet. From then on it plays with breath-taking clarity and warmth and I wish I could 'paint in colour' just how incredible the audio is. It plays beautifully - each note is so clean and precise and again Mint is 100% deserved.
The piano intro 'The Midnight Hanging Of A Runaway Serf' is flawless and the opening vocal is perfect also. The second vocal does have a couple of light ticks but they are relatively quiet and non-intrusive in my opinion. That is the only background across the entire track. They are not clicks so I think Near Mint- is an honest grading. A great melody here with such strong musicianship.
The instrumental 'To Julie' plays with stunning clarity all the way through. The playback is crystal clear and there is nothing that detracts from the Mint audio. What a version!
'Gypsy Girl & Rambleaway' ends S1 with genuine quality once more. There are no ticks, clicks, pops or static and again you cannot fault the audio. For a final track the sound is so clean and fresh - this truly is audio of the highest calibre and Mint is richly deserved.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The classic 'Do Not Walk In The Rain' plays with incredible clarity and depth and I cannot put into words just how STUNNING the audio is! In all honesty it plays like it has never seen a turntable, the sonic quality is out of this world. A powerful vocal here and yet there is no distortion on the top end and the musicianship is exemplary to say the least. This is the most 'complete' version of this track that I have ever listened to and is MINT all the way.
'Much Ado About Nothing' more than keeps up this standard and plays with impeccable precision from start to finish with no intrusion, not even a dust tick. Another great song and another Mint grade.
The acoustic intro on 'Graveyard' is 'as new' and Welham's opening vocal section is on the same level. It progresses in the same way - let's be honest there is so much 'room' for interference to be heard as it is a relatively quiet track but... there isn't any! The quiet acoustic mid instrumental is a case in point. The clarity of sound here is mesmerising and there is literally no background. The next vocal is the same and to the end it plays with such a clean sound. I only detected a handful of mega quiet dust ticks near the end but I still think it deserves a Mint grading it is that good. Another great track!
In a way returning to the 'sound' of their first album 'Famine Song' plays very clearly on the intro and opening vocal with no interference. However, in the middle there are a small number of light clicks and ticks and a little bit more interference towards the end. This is a shame because the rest of the album plays so damn well! The first half of this track is Mint and is VG- for the second half.
'Autumn Childhood' plays so well for a final track with no ticks, clicks, pops or static. The vocal perhaps doesn't have quite the same level of clarity as on the other tracks but that may well just be me being overly critical! The sonic quality is still very impressive and like I say there is no actual interference. I will say Near Mint but that is a conservative grading.
In summary this first pressing to such a high standard and its only that one section on S2 that stops it from being a final upgrade truth be told. The good news is that this interference does not last long due to it being a short track and the rest of the album is just stunning! With only two very light ticks on S1 the clarity, depth and warmth of the audio is exceptional - mere words do no paint the correct picture! There is some spindle wear but it has certainly lost none of its original sonic quality. A superb example overall with just that one 'flaw' on S2.
The Gatefold & Inner Sleeve
The E.J. Day textured cover is in excellent shape with only a little wear. This is mainly restricted to the top and bottom edges and one edge of the spine which do have some light rubbing but it doesn't stand out as such. The corners have only minimal wear and the opening edge has only light handling wear. Both the front and back cover are incredible clean with no marking - the front does have a slight wavy feel to it probably caused by it being damp at some point. There certainly are no water marks and it is only a minor issue. The inside of the gatefold is in lovely condition and again is unmarked, just that minor rubbing around the edges. A very strong example overall.
The original plain white inner sleeve (Patent Applied For) is unmarked with no side splits, tears or marking and only a little creasing.

I will only send items items worldwide via tracked shipping. This provides 'peace of mind' in case of loss or damage. The shipping costs are shown below and combined shipping is always offered. Any over-payment will always be refunded.
The Royal Mail only insure up to a value of £250 so if an item sells for more it may be wise to use a courier service (e.g. Parcelforce or DPD). An extra insurance premium will be required but I will not know the exact amount until the final sale price is known. Because of this I will sometimes have to estimate the cost and this will be shown in the listing. All vinyls are packaged in strong over-sized custom made mailers with plenty of extra cardboard protection. They are placed inside separate poly-lined inners outside the cover so as to avoid seam splits in transit and then placed inside a PVC sleeve to provide even more protection. I pride myself on my high quality packaging as my feed confirms and if any customer has any specific requirements I am more than happy to help.
The mailers I use cost £1.00 each and I will use anything between 3-5 cardboard stiffeners which cost approx £0.18 each. There is also the cost of the poly-lined inner and PVC sleeve to consider, it all adds up! Not forgetting that eBay take 10% of the shipping fee also!!
