Description

Forest 'self titled' album from 1969 on the Harvest label catalogue number SHVL 760 (stereo).

The numbers and letters stamped on the vinyl are:- Side One: SHVL 760 A-1G 1 M Side Two: SHVL 760 B-1G 1 R

This is a heavy vinyl it has a small warp but it plays well on my turntable. There are a lot of scratches and surface marks on both sides, I can feel some of them but only lightly - they don't feel bad. Side One plays clearly all the way through with light crackle, Side Two is similar but with added ticks now and again - not all the way through but enough to be slightly irritating! This is not a vinyl for the sensitive listener, but it's perfectly playable and enjoyable and it's probably good enough for the enthusiast who doesn't have hundreds of pounds to spend on a super copy - there are no sticks, no skips, no jumps.

The track titles can be seen on the label photographs. The labels are in nice, clean and tidy condition. They have plenty of spindle lines but no writing and no damage.

The cover is a gatefold type, it doesn't have any coating or laminate. It has surface edge and corner rub wear and a small plain white label under the groups name on the front. The centre piece is in nice condition with just some light browning towards the edges with age and a few handling marks.

The spine has some scuffs and end wear but it's readable.

The inner sleeve is a plain off white with no liner - some say it should be a Harvest sleeve, but I don't think so because most of the albums on the Harvest sleeve came out after this one and they wouldn't have been known about when this was released. I am not even sure this inner sleeve is original but it looks about right - it has a small slit in the side and bottom. I have checked the Record Collector grading system and I would say that the cover and the record are both 'good'.

I have described this as carefully and honestly as possible, but it is a no return item so please bid accordingly.

It will be packed in a record mailing box (cruciform) with two pieces of card inside for further protection.
