FOREST - THE FULL CIRCLE
Harvest SHVL 784 (released in 1970)

Record: EX+ (Near Mint)
Cover: VG+
The record is in near mint condition with two very clean, clear labels.
The Gatefold sleeve is in very good condition both inside and out. It does have some noticeable shelf-wear along its edges along with 'soft' corners. Apart from these, the sleeve would also be in EX condition.
Forest was more or less an extension of The Incredible String Band, releasing a couple albums of medieval-hippie minstrelsy in 1969-1970. Each member of the trio (Martin Welham, Derek Allenby, and Hadrian Welham) was a multi-instrumentalist, playing not just the expected guitars, but harmonium, harpsichord, pipes, whistle, organ, and mandolin. If the group lacked the electricity and drums associated with rock, at the same time they could not be associated with the straight folk scene; their lyrics were strange, and their approach decidely eclectic.
Through the recommendation of top British DJ John Peel, Forest found a home on Harvest, the pioneering U.K. progressive rock label. Their first, self-titled LP was an Incredible String Band clone; while it may have been somewhat less grating than the ISB at their most excessive, it also was not as innovative or imaginative as the ISB at their best. This is their second album and, as it turned out, final effort (Full Circle, 1970) was an improvement, finding their songwriting skills improving substantially, and their arrangements becoming more diverse and original.
THIS ITEM IS A HIGHLY COLLECTABLE ALBUM, ESPECIALLY WITH THE VINYL BEING IN SUPERB CONDITION.

I am NOT a dealer but have many years experience of buying & selling records as a hobby. I tend to specialise in items from the 50s, 60s and 70s. I use the standard Record Collector's Grading System.
EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration etc.
I do not normally sell records that are below GOOD unless they have some rarity value.
I pack all records very carefully as I want you to receive the record(s) in the condition that I would like to receive them. I use official card record mailers with TWO layers of card inside. I always obtain a proof of postage from the Post Office. If you require Recorded Delivery and/or Insurance please let me know as soon as possible after the auction has finished. I aim to post your record(s) within 48 hours of receiving your payment.
