1er disque 33 tours 25cm de Francis BEBEY sorti en 1965 sur le label OCORA (Office de Coopération Radiophonique).

“ Produit en 1965 par Ocora, une collection de Radio France alors dirigée par Pierre Toureille, ce disque, comprenant “Le chant d'Ibadan” et “Black Tears” a ouvert le parcours discographique de Francis Bebey. Le titre “Black Tears” fut dédié aux hommes de bonne volonté qui participèrent en 1963 à la marche sur Washington pour réclamer justice et égalité... 

Issued in 1965, Pièces pour guitare seule gathering “Ibadan's song” and “Black Tears” has been Francis Bebey's first album produced in France. The label, Ocora was directed then by Pierre Toureille. “Black Tears” is a tune about the civil right movement. ”

"Francis Bebey, who was born on the 15th of July 1929  in Douala Cameroon, is both a composer and guitarist. His compositions as presented to the public during various European recitals, are neither African folk music nor jazz, nor Western classical music. His music remains deeply attached tot he values of the African negro tradition, as he knew and lived it during his childhood. Francis Bebey in a Q/A with Lepold Sedar Senghor -from a 1965 interview with Francis Bebey on the liner notes of the original cover. A: ‘Black Tears ‘has three main themes: the first one represents tears of sadness and despair; the third, which is gayer, denotes tears of joy. Q: You mean laughing till one cries? A: Exactly Q: and the little tune which recurs from time to time, and on which the piece ends? A: That is the theme of Life –always serene and indifferent to sorrow, pettiness or racial prejudice –Life, which has always been beautiful, ever since Creation Q: in the  tears of joy passage we hear a real African tom-tom  sequence. Who accompanied you in this movement? A: No-one Q: You mean you superimposed it later? A: Not at all. It was played at the same time, on the guitar. Of course, I was very happy when the idea came to me, and when I was first able to realize it. DISQUE : 57 ans d'âge, visuellement propre et en très bon état, quelques traces d'usage superficielles, fines hairlines, mais rien de suspect et excellente écoute (quelques grésillements ça et là, rien de très gênant, comme la plupart de 25cm de cette époque).

POCHETTE : propre et en très bon état, quelques traces d'usage (voir photos, demander plus si nécessaire).

Je n'utilise quasiment jamais le système de notation vg, vg+, exc, mint, etc..., cause de trop nombreux litiges du fait d'interprétations différentes, certains indiquant vg pour un vg+, d'autres précisant nm au lieu d'exc, mais finalement personne ne semble s'y retrouver ! C'est la raison pour laquelle je propose des photos permettant de se faire une idée de l'état de l'objet (parfois des extraits également). J'essaie de décrire au mieux l'objet tel qu'il est, mais je suis bien évidemment disponible pour répondre à toutes vos questions. Mon souhait est que chacun soit le + satisfait possible, voir mes évaluations. Merci de votre attention !
