Condizioni : la copertina apribile mostra sulla destra del lato frontale una leggera ammaccatura nell'angolo superiore e delle tracce brune lungo il bordo (foto 5). Internamente sono visibili alcune macchioline giallognole (foto 2). Il retro ha poche lievi tracce brune (foto 6). Manca la fascetta obi. Grande stato, EX / vinile con un paio di insignificanti segnetti che non condizionano affatto l'ascolto; grande stato, NEAR MINT

Condition : front side of gatefold cover shows on the right a light bump on the top corner and some brown traces along the edge (photo 5). Inside you can see some yellowish specks (photo 2). The back cover has a few slight brown traces (photo 6). No obi, EX / vinyl has a few minor scuffs not affecting at all listening, NEAR MINT

GRADAZIONE RIGOROSA - STRICTLY GRADED

Copertine e vinili sono visualmente gradati dopo un’attenta osservazione sotto la luce del sole fatta sulla mia terrazza a tetto. Nelle giornate grigie vengono controllati sotto una forte lampada alogena con l’aiuto di una lente d’ingrandimento. Tutti i 33 giri in asta sono stati interamente ascoltati su un giradischi Rega Planar 3 fornito di una testina a magnete mobile Grado Statement 1. Per EP e singoli a 45 giri utilizzo un Thorens TD 166 BC con testina, sempre MM, Goldring 1006. Ritenendo che le abituali classificazioni quali Mint, Ex, Vg, ecc., ecc… siano poco significative per spiegare le reali condizioni dei dischi ed anche estremamente soggettive, precedo sempre tali classificazioni con una breve descrizione degli eventuali difetti che ho riscontrato, ad eccezione di Mint- che il più alto grado che conferisco a qualsiasi disco. Soltanto per le copie ancora sigillate all’origine utilizzo MINT/MINT.

Sleeves and vinyls are visually graded after a careful check in bright sunshine on my roof terrace. In the gray days I watch the records under a strong halogen lamp with the help of a magnifying glass. All LPs in auction have been fully heard on a Rega Planar 3 turntable with a Grado Statement 1 moving magnet cartridge. I listen EPs and singles 45 rpm. on a Thorens TD 166 BC turntable with a Goldring 1006 MM cartridge. Considering that the usual classifications such as Mint, EX, Vg, etc…, etc… are not significant to explain the real condition of the records in addition to a total subjectivity of opinion, I always introduce before these classifications a short description concerning any defects I have verified with the exception of Mint minus, the highest grade I declare. I use MINT/MINT exclusively for the still from factory sealed copies.

Note : eccellente colonna sonora dalla complessa costruzione armonica come la trama del film richiedeva. Alain Delon interpreta nel film un playboy cinico che pur sposato ama sedurre le belle donne. Quindi non percepiamo nell'ascolto dell'album le emozioni sentimentali tormentate o ingenue come nel precedente film musicato da Lai: "Love Story" ma belle combinazioni sonore da apprezzare unicamente per la loro intrinseca qualità e cioè buona musica. Uno stesso brano è spesso caratterizzato da cadenze sonore che improvvisamente spariscono lasciando posto a differenti ritmiche e strumenti musicali. Un tipico esempio di quanto ho appena detto può essere ravvisato in "La Nuit" (a2) con una moderata partenza affidata all’organo e alla tromba, poi l’intervento dei fiati e della batteria aumentano notevolmente il ritmo che viene interrotto dalle note lente del pianoforte a sua volta fermato da ottimi vocalizzi femminili. Ugualmente in "Eva" (a3) dove una vivace marcetta con chitarra, basso, piano, tromba, flauto e batteria è spazzata via da un intenso movimento sinfonico dell'orchestra che tuttavia si esaurisce consentendo il ritorno del ritmo iniziale. Inoltre vorrei menzionare "Somewhere in the Night" (b3) dalle elettrizzanti improvvisazioni dell'Hammond magnificamente assistito da basso e batteria e con l’intervento dei fiati le cui sonorità sembrano molto vicine alla musica funk. Infine, scusate il gioco di parole, "Final" (b6), un brano lungo e sofisticato caratterizzato da vocalizzi femminili su un ritmo veloce guidato da basso e batteria e con l’orchestra in sottofondo. Successivamente l'ingresso del pianoforte dalle note ben scandite e una maggiore intensità da parte dell’orchestra.

Notes : excellent soundtrack by the complex harmonic structure as required by the film plot. Alain Delon plays the role of a cynical playboy who although married loves to seduce the beautiful women. Thus listening to the album we do not perceive the tormented or naive sentimental emotions as in the previous film set to music by Lai: "Love Story" but very nice sound combinations to appreciate solely for their intrinsic quality, namely good music. The same piece is often characterized by cadences that suddenly disappear leaving room to different rhythms and music instruments. A typical example of what I just said may be recognized in "La Nuit" (a2) with a moderate start from organ and trumpet, then the entrance of brass and drums greatly increase the rhythm that is interrupted by the slow piano notes, in turn, stopped by beautiful female wordless vocalizations. Similarly in "Eve" (a3) wherein a lively little march with guitar, bass, piano, trumpet, flute and drums is swept away by an intense movement symphonic of the orchestra which, however, ceases allowing the return of the initial rhythm. I would also like to mention "Somewhere in the Night" (b3) from the exciting Hammond improvisations magnificently supported by bass and drums and with the involvement of the brass instruments whose sonorities seem very close to the funk music. Finally, forgive the pun, "Final" (b6), a long and sophisticated track featuring female wordless vocalizations on a fast rhythm led by bass and drums with the orchestra in the background. Then the entrance of the piano from well marked notes and a greater intensity from the orchestra.
