NAPLES DOCK / THE CLIMBER ... 7-inch, 45rpm OST single by FRANCO CAMPANINO. Original Italian pressing on CAM label (AMP 150), from 1975. Killer cinematic funk from the cult soundtrack arranger. Easily, one of our all time favourite Italian OST singles :) An outstanding double-sider, gleamed from an ultra-sleazy drug thriller film directed by Pasquale Squitiere starring Andy Warhol favourite, Joe Dallesandro, and Squadra Volante / Suspiria / sexy euro starlet, Stefania Casini. NAPLES DOCK is like brass-heavy Roy Budd - Fear Is The Key period funk (but waay better!) with aggressive jazz horn section / big basslines and seriously funky breaks that play over the opening titles of the movie. Punishing drums / congas / wah wah and infectious, hard hitting latin timbale from Campanino's blaxploitation sounding orchestra. THE CLIMBER side is the disco tinged theme you hear being played by a nude / topless female DJ in one of the several nightclub discotheque scenes in the film too. Druggy lounge funk with bizarre spoken word vocals / orgasmic porno moan intro / shades of necrophilia (the singer is talking to the dead body of a lover) / skippy B-boy drum patterns / beats / cool fuzz distortions / sax and strings. Comped on Attori A Mano Armata by the Cinedelic label. THE CLIMBER was also the b-side to Daniele Patucchi's infamous Red Lamp single. The L'Ambizioso single is one of only a small handful of Italian soundtrack releases that truly captures the hottest Polizieschi / cop funk / drug heist / crime thriller sound. Great for DJs. Amazing, pop art sleeve showing Joe Dallesandro with machine gun and smoking cigarette in his hand. Very rare OST 45!!!

Vinyl is closer to shiny M- condition overall with a few hairlines from storage / sleeve removal. Some light surface noises. The amazing, pop art inspired picture sleeve is closer to M- condition overall with a little creasing from storage. A touch of wear to bottom corners. Some natural age discoloration. Absolutely, the best copy we've ever offered for sale. Very rare OST 45!!!
