FRANK SINATRA Chicago b/w All The Way
Strong VG+. Gorgeous Late 1957 78 RPM Pressing. Lots of sheen on the disc, which appears to be vinyl and not shellac. (This was somewhat common during the tail end of the 78 era.) A couple of pops on "Chicago," but overall both sides sound incredibly rich and MUCH fuller than the comparable 45 disc. 78s pressed on vinyl was an audiophile dream come true and it's too bad it didn't stick around longer.
Issued in September, 1957, this single was Frank's second-to-last American 78 RPM release. There are no US copies listed on Popsike. It's incredibly rare to see the US pressing show up anywhere. Comes with stock Capitol 78 sleeve.
I know how to ship 78s—between two pieces of cardboard suspended in an oversized box filled with popcorn styrofoam.
