Rare opportunity to own an Original DEMO LP!!! This is a very unique FRANK SINATRA album with a "NOT FOR SALE" stamp even on both sides of the vinyl itelf!  A treasure to pass on to a Frank fan!

In the Wee Small Hours is the ninth studio album by American vocalist Frank Sinatra. It was released in April 1955 on Capitol Records, produced by Voyle Gilmore with arrangements by Nelson Riddle. All the songs on the album deal with specific themes such as loneliness, introspection, lost love, failed relationships, depression and night-life; as a result, In the Wee Small Hours has been called one of the first concept albums. The cover artwork reflects these themes, portraying Sinatra on an eerie and deserted street awash in blue-tinged street lights.[1][2] He had been developing this idea since 1946 with his first album release, The Voice; he would successfully continue this "concept" formula with later albums such as Songs for Swingin' Lovers! and Only the Lonely.[3]

In the Wee Small Hours was issued as two 10-inch LP discs, and also as one 12-inch record LP, making it one of the first of its kind. It was also issued as four four–song 45-rpm EP discs sold in cardboard sleeves with the same cover as the LPs, not in paper covers like 45-rpm singles.

The album was a commercial success, reaching number 2 on the US charts where it stayed for 18 weeks, being Sinatra's highest charting album since his 1947 release Songs by Sinatra. As of 2002 it has been certified Gold by the RIAA, selling over 500,000 units.[4] The album was also a critical success, and is listed as the third most acclaimed album of the 50s.[5] In 2012, Rolling Stone ranked it the 101st greatest album of all time.[6]

RECORD: NM- WITH NORMAL WEAR, THE USUAL FAINT SCUFFS AND MARKS THAT DO NOT AFFECT PLAY.  Still has original bright mirror-like gloss and some spindle marks.

COVER:  VG++  some ringwear, NO seam splits except a ½ inch top end one, original bright gloss

About record grading:

Near Mint (NM or M-)

NM records are shiny, with no visible defects when held up to daylight or equal lighting source. Writing, stickers or other markings cannot appear on the label, nor can any “spindle marks” from someone trying to blindly put the record on the turntable. If played, it will do so with no surface noise.

NM covers have no creases, ring wear or seam splits of any kind.

Very Good Plus (VG+) or Excellent (E)

A good description of a VG+ record is “except for a couple minor things, this would be Near Mint.” Most collectors, especially those who want to play their records, will be happy with a VG+ record, especially if it toward the high end of the grade (sometimes called VG++ or E+).

VG+ records may show some slight signs of wear, including light scuffs or very light scratches that do not affect the listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK. Minor signs of handling are OK, too, such as telltale marks around the center hole, but repeated playing has not misshapen the hole. There may be some very light ring wear or discoloration, but it should be barely noticeable.

VG+ covers should have only minor wear. A VG+ cover might have some very minor seam wear or a split (less than one inch long) at the bottom, the most vulnerable location. 

Very Good (VG)

Many of the imperfections found on a VG+ record are more obvious on a VG record. VG records have more obvious flaws than their counterparts in better shape. They lack most of the original gloss found on factory-fresh records. Groove wear is evident on sight, as are light scratches deep enough to feel with a fingernail. When played, a VG record has surface noise, and some scratches may be audible.

VG covers will have many signs of human handling. Seam splitting will be more obvious; it may appear on all three sides, though it won’t be obvious upon looking. Someone might have written or it or stamped a price tag on it, too.

Will ship with disc in inner sleeve which is removed from the jacket, as this applies in most cases (except 78s and some 45s without jackets). The record will be outside of the cover so the seams won't split during delivery.

For 78s I have lots of padding, air wrap, etc.  Often put a common record on each side for extra protection!
