Own a piece of Zappa history.

An absolute must for serious Zappa collectors!

If there was a Zappa Museum - this would be a star exhibit in it.

This record came from the personal collection of David Alexander, Assistant Director to FZ & Tony Palmer,  on the 200 Motels film. It was purchased, as part of a larger collection of David's memorabilia, at the TWGAZE (UK's leading auctioneer) Film & Pop Memorabilia Auction on 12 February 2011; and I subsequently bought it from the winning auction bidder. It still has the auctioneer's lot sticker and vendor's purchase number on the outer bag.

It is signed on the inside in beautiful black felt-tip pen (see photo) by....

Frank Zappa

Aynsley Dunbar

Jimmy Carl Black

George Duke

Jim Pons

Martin Lickert

Mark Volman

Ian Underwood

Dick Barber

This comes with the original (not a copy or reproduction) of the 200 Motels 'Call Sheet' for 22 January 1971 which David Alexander was responsible for compiling and circulating to the artists prior to the day's filming at Pinewood Studios. It sets out the timings for the day's rehearsals, stage numbers, dance routines, dressing room numbers, editing timetable etc. This original 'Call Sheet' has been retained by David with the LP since it was signed by the band members at the US premier of the film's release in November 1971.

It also comes with one of the original (not a copy) on-set photos featuring Ringo Starr (with David Alexander also featured in the photo - the one with the hat I am told) that was considered for use as one of the front-of-house stills - although I'm not sure whether this particular one was eventually used.

Unfortunately, there are no signatures for Ringo Starr, Keith Moon, Theodore Bikel, Ruth Underwood or Howard Kaylan - which would have been really nice to complete the full set.

Cover: Unlaminated USA 1st pressing with a  'promo' clip at the base and promo sticker on rear cover - these were clipped before distribution at the Premier as they were not intended to go on general sale to the public. No poster or booklet. Nice condition but the really important thing is the set of signatures!

Mint - The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality.

Excellent - The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality.

Very Good - The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch.

Good - The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches.

Fair - The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise, it may even jump.

Poor - The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc

Bad - The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler.
