Description
Beat the Boots was Frank Zappa's attempt to fight back against illegal bootlegging of his concerts by releasing his own high-quality versions of various bootlegged shows. Individual titles/shows are as follows:
As An Am (Palladium, New York City, Oct. 31, 1981) The Ark, Boston, July 1968 Freaks & Motherfu*#@%! (Fillmore East, 1970) Unmitigated Audacity (Notre Dame University, May 12, 1974) Anyway the Wind Blows (Paris, date unknown) (2-disk) "Tis the Season to Be Jelly (Sweden 1967) Saarbrucken, West Germany, Sept. 3, 1978 (2-disk) Piquantique (Stockholm, Aug. 21, 1973)
All 10 records and record jackets are in near-mint condition. The box is harder to judge, as it is simply a plain brown cardboard box, but there are no tears or major defects. The box opens out into an awesome, full-color pop-up cartoon scene depicting a Zappa concert. The set also includes a Beat the Boots pin and white tee-shirt (size XL, never worn, never washed).
