·       IMPORTANT NOTE: THIS ALBUM COMES FROM A SMALL GROUP OF STILL SEALED ITEMS (ABOUT 10) IN OUR FEATURED LISTINGS, ON WHICH THE SHRINK WRAP HAD SEPARATED ALONG THE ENTIRE LENGTH OF ONE SEAM (TYPICALLY: THE SPINE, BUT IN THIS CASE,  TOP SEAM). THESE ITEMS TYPICALLY ALSO HAVE MINOR DISCOLORATION (COLOR FADING) OR A SMALL WATER STAIN ON THAT SAME SIDE, LEADING US TO BELIEVE THAT THIS PARTICULAR SIDE WAS EXPOSED TO ELEMENTS (EITHER SUNLIGHT OR HUMIDITY) AND THAT SHRINK WRAP SIMPLY LOOSENED AND SNAPPED OPEN OVER TIME. This 1970 release finds Zappa and band at the apex of their improvisational powers. The album is divided into two discrete halves. The first side consists of extended, largely instrumental pieces where Zappa and his musicians stretch out and show off their improv chops over relatively simple, often blues-based structures.

Side two contains shorter, vocal-oriented numbers, with harmonies that draw on the doo-wop influence of Zappa's youth (a recurrent element in his work). Slightly schizophrenic though it may be, CHUNGA'S REVENGE is something of a showcase for the members of Zappa's group, displaying their vocal and instrumental interaction to fine effect.

(b)          The record is believed to come in its original stock inner sleeve.

(c)             The record is  apparently pressed on a beautiful, thick, inflexible vinyl, which was usually used for the first or very early pressings. Usually, the sound on such thick vinyl pressings is full-bodied, vivid, and even dramatic. Do not expect to obtain such a majestic analog sound from a digital recording!

(d)          Of course, this is a full-bodied ANALOG recording, and not an inferior, digital recording!!!

COVER IS (WEAK) NEAR MINT, STILL SEALED AND COVERED IN ITS ORIGINAL ►SHRINK WRAP

The following flaws or imperfections are noted on the cover:

-        Cover has a small cutout saw-mark (an indent about 3-5 mm long ) on one of its seams.

-        Cover has some fraying/wear along the upper seam

-        Minor discoloration (color fading) noted on the spine  (nothing significant)

-         Cover has JUST A HINT of ring wear (nothing significant); On the scale from 1 to 10 (1 being the least, and  10 being the most severe), we assess the severity of ring wear as 1   (VISIBLE ON BACK SIDE ONLY) .
