CONDITION OF DISCS (visual grading and play-grading):

VISUAL GRADING:

These coloured discs appear to be virtually flawless. I rarely give a record a mint grading unless I think that it is genuinely mint. These three records are from my personal collection and have only been played once since removal from the shrinkwrap. The LPs are very shiny and are unmarked. There is a tiny amount of black vinyl in the white record (visible in the run-off of Side B), this would have occured during the pressing and is a common occurence in coloured vinyl. It is very difficult to find Joe's Garage on coloured vinyl and I should think that it would be difficult to find another copy in such immaculate visual condition (especially at this low starting price). Act 1 is pressed on white vinyl, Act 2 is pressed on blue vinyl and Act 3 is pressed on red vinyl.

All of the record labels are in pristine condition; there are no spindle marks whatsoever on any of the labels!

I have play-graded these records once throughout on a PS-LX350H Sony deck with an Ortofon cartridge at a lightweight 2g tone arm setting. I have cleaned the records with a suitable anti-static record cleaning spray. Each disc sounds incredible, the sound quality is top-rate and both channels are exceptionally clear. This is the clearest that I have ever heard Frank's narration as "The Central Scrutinizer" and this is possibly the best sounding vinyl copy that I have ever heard of Joe's Garage (Acts 1-3). The mix of "A Little Green Rosetta" is slightly different since the female vocals seem to be louder and Zappa's lines about the "3rd World and 4th World record players" seem to be much quieter than on other issues. The run-in grooves on each disc are near silent and surface noise is virtually non-existent.

CONDITION OF COVERS:

ACT 1: NEAR MINT

This single gatefold cover is in fantastic condition with only a few minor blemishes. The front, rear and inner gatefold are in stunning condition with no fading. The spine is intact and the edges and corners are in great condition. There are some tiny scuff marks to some of the corners. There is some extremely light signs of ringwear to the rear of the sleeve which is barely noticeable.

ACTS 2 & 3: NEAR MINT(-)

This double gatefold cover is in fantastic condition with a few minor blemishes. The front, rear and inner gatefold are in stunning condition with no fading. The edges and corners are still sharp and the spine is intact. There is a tiny amount of scuffing to some of the corners. There is a small crease/indentation to the top of the rear of the sleeve (see picture).

CONDITION OF LYRIC INSERT SHEETS:

Both lyrics sheets are in immaculate condition. It is quite rare to find these lyric sheets in any vinyl issues of Joe's Garage, especially in mint condition. Both inserts fold out and are printed in full colour.

Any merchandise offered by me will have no jumps or writing on covers/labels unless stated.

This Limited Edition coloured vinyl set of Joe's Garage should please any Zappa fan or collector. This set is extremely sought after by Zappa fans and is becoming rarer. This record set is true investment material.

Packaging Information:

This record will be sent in a high quality cardboard record mailing box, protected with two strong cardboard stiffeners to prevent unwanted bending during transportation. The records will be placed in a PVC outer sleeve and "sandwiched" between the cardboard stiffeners. The box will be sealed with strong brown tape. Please bid with confidence, I will always aim for the record to reach you in the same condition as it leaves me, especially since I have had disappointing experiences with records badly packaged that I have received.
