Frank Zappa / Joe's Garage [Act II-III] - Zappa Records SRZ 2-1502 (1979) (US) ...This auction is for an original issue, factory sealed Double Record on (US) vinyl.
Two months after the release of Act I, Frank Zappa completed Joe's Garage with the two-LP set Joe's Garage: Acts II & III, meaning that, counting the two contractual albums Sleep Dirt and Orchestral Favorites, he released seven LPs' worth of new material in 1979.

This is back to the madness of Freak Out, with more pop and doo-wop bursting through all the complicated stuff, letting you know that Zappa could write a hit single, if he could be bothered to do so. Joe's Garage is a hoot and harmlessly pornographic. The sleeve-note states that it is "a stupid story about how the government is trying to do away with music." It is absolutely no coincidence that throughout, the listener mistakes the "scrutinizer" as the "scrotumizer." Zappa was that rude, and that funny.

For all the caustic intent and outrage, the finest moment is 'Watermelon In Easter Hay' -- one of Zappa's most celebrated guitar pieces.
