In 1979, American music icon Frank Zappa released his ambitious rock opera concept album titled 'Joe's Garage Acts I, II, and III'. 'Act I' was originally released first, then 'Act II and 'III' were released as another (and separate) album a little later. Eventually, they were combined together. On this strange and wonderful rock masterpiece, Zappa pokes fun at almost everybody! Definitely not for the faint of heart...


(RIP Frank. You were truly an amazing composer, songwriter, guitar player, producer, and a great dad. You leave us a truly profound and awe-inspiring legacy of music that I'm still discovering, to this very day. You are missed!)


Zappa was always loved in eastern Europe, especially Czechoslovakia, Hungary, and Poland. In 1990, the Czech Republic (now called Czechia), released a special THREE record picture disc set for 'Joe's Garage'!  It's from the Euro company Globus International, (by way of UMRK), and authorized by Zappa's own Barking Pumpkin Records. An EXTREMELY limited number of these were made, and that's why they average around $300 for a complete set, in good condition. But not here, and not today!


These two sets have all of the insides. There's a gatefold inner that is the lyrics, a "script" from a play, and song credits. The album jackets themselves are gatefolds, too. The only thing these are missing are the obi strips that originally came on each jacket. But besides that, these are complete! (See pics for each item included in this great deal.) Each picture disc LP record comes in its clear PVC jacket, (which they came in).


I can't vouch for the sound quality of the picture discs themselves, as I never play specialty vinyl such as pic discs or colored records. They do, however, look shiny, bright, and clean! Purchased from a European collector who obviously took care of his records. This is not just an impulse buy, it's an investment!


A sweet Frank Zappa collectible, in fantastic condition, with everything but the obi strips! Available now, and for a great price! Don't wait too long, as Zappa fans and picture disc collectors will be eyeing this one.
