Country:UK Released:1968, 1st Press. Genre:Rock Style:Alternative Rock, Psychedelic Rock, Avantgarde CONDITION: VG+ / VG+. The gatefold sleeve has corner buffing, lamination and edge creases, when tilted to the light a light fading ring can be seen on the front and rear. The centre has some light dirt / finger marks. No tears, edge splits or overall discolouring, fine spine and certainly exceptable. Both labels come in fine condition with little more than a few spindle trails seen on each side. The vinyl retains its new shine, numerous light scratches can be seen when tilted to the light, side two has one more serious looking scratch, this I have pictured for you. I have test played this through both sides and took the following notes: Side one, plays fine upto when frank is heard talking about his brother working at a gass station, 3 or 4 audible ticks can be heard, one on each rotation, perhaps two minutes later a tick is once more heard, again 3 or 4 ticks this is heard during a continous sound, maybe a horn, after this playing out fine. Obviously there is also a few other un-noteworthy quiet feckles heard. No continous background hiss or crackles with most of this side playing completely clear. Side two, The talking intro has an audible tick for four or five rotations, playing fine then until we reach the pictured scratch, this gives a loud audible tick on each rotation which gets quieter until it completely disapears, this tick can be heard for the length of this scratch. After which playing out fine with, again like side one, an occasional un-noteworthy feckle heard, playing with no backround hiss or feckling with much of this side also playing clear. Just a couple of things to add, firstly I have not given this a clean so this may improve the sound quality further, that said the deep scratch on side two will always remain audible. For that reason and the other audible surface noise pointed out above a grading of VG+ is correct, no skips or jumps, nice appearance, mostly playing clear. Secondly all turntables are slightly different so you may hear one or two, more or less, ticks or crackles, please be a little flexible as it is almost impossible to be exact. Also I am currently breaking a Frank Zappa collection, possibly 40 or so LPs, the person I purchased these of apparently knew Frank and saw him many times in concert.
