Description

This auction is for a copy of
Frank Zappa's
12" LP album - US release
"Lumpy Gravy"
Verve Records DSX V6-8741, Stereo, 1968.

Very nice gatefold cover copy of 1st solo album by Frank Zappa, entitled "Lumpy Gravy".

All Music Guide (AMG) says: "Lumpy Gravy collaged bits of orchestral music, sonic manipulations, spoken words, and occasional pop ditties into two lumps of 16 minutes each. This album presents Zappa's first recordings with a decent orchestra, the 50-piece
Abnuceals Emuukha Electric Symphony Orchestra."

Please check out our other record listings this week!
Eclectic selection of LP's including psych, 50's/early 60's rock, ska, Michael Jackson,  a fabulous Nancy Sinatra collection, and much more.
We're also listing some great classical, spoken word, jazz, and Broadway cast recordings.
Many htf items, including 10", Still Sealed, Picture Discs, and Imports.
Don't forget, you'll save big on combined shipping when you purchase multiple items.

Vinyl = EX.
Heavy weight vinyl in excellent condition. Light playwear, with some mold release residue, light sleeve storage scuffs, and a few light sleeve/handling scuffs.
Black with silver Verve Records labels  - a very faint, almost invisible, spindle trail on each side.

Jacket =VG+.
Thick American-style brown back cardboard gatefold cover in VG+ shape. Lightly bumped corners and light ringwear/rubbing on front cover. Ringwear/rubbing is heavier on back cover. Moderate edgewear, heaviest on top, which is often caused by rubbing against the top of a bookshelf.
Inside gatefold looks remarkably good for a white background, with just a few faint tiny soil marks and a couple of small, very light age spots. Edgewear is particularly noticeable inside at top and along left border, against burgandy background.
 Plain inner sleeve.

Note: All photos are of the item that you are bidding on.

Gatefold Surcharge on International Shipping
International Buyers:  Sorry, but due to this item's gatefold cover and weight (US 60's & early 70's vinyl & jackets were heavy!), the gatefold surcharge of US$2.25 will apply.
International Shipping Cost for this item  is US$17.00,
(Canada - US$11.40; Mexico - US$15.25).

Grading:

We use Goldmine Record grading standards. Records and jackets/sleeves are visually graded under high intensity light, and all details noted are included in the item description. We strive to include complete, acurate condition and description information to the best of our ability.

Some records, especially rare ones or those with damage such as "feelies" (scratches deep enough to be felt with a fingernail), also will be listened to and receive a separate play grade. This assures that the vinyl neither "skips" (misses playing some of the grooves), "sticks" (plays the same groove over and over), or has excessive background noise. Any "tics" (clicking or popping sounds made when the record player needle moves over a scuff or scratch) or other surface noise, will be noted in the description.

We generally do not sell any record that grades lower than VG-, unless it is exceptionally rare, or play grades higher than the visual grade. Goldmine states (and we concur) that: "... older LPs (1950 to about 1971) tend to play better than they look, and newer LPs (at least until 1989) tend to play worse than they look." In particular, we have found that older heavy weight "mono" vinyl usually can withstand considerable play and handling abuse with little or no compromise in fidelity or playability.
