FRANK ZAPPA “ONLY IN IT FOR THE MONEY” RARE AUSSIE MONO
ORIGINAL BLACK & SILVER VERVE LABEL
The Mothers of Invention – We’re Only In It For The Money LP (orig. Australia MONO Verve V-5045—1968)
FULL DESCRIPTION TO FOLLOW!
On 24-Nov-10 at 23:57:38 AEDST, seller added the following information:
Recorded: 14-16 March, 2-9 August, October 1967 ~ Australian release date: August(?) 1968 (US release date: January 1968).
On offer here is an ULTRA RARE original AUSTRALIAN BLACK POLYDOR INTERNATIONAL MONO issue of the third album by THE MOTHERS OF INVENTION. THE SINGLE SLEEVE DESIGN WITH THE ‘SERGEANT PEPPER’ PARODY ON THE FRONT COVER IS UNIQUE TO AUSTRALIA and TAIWAN. Curiously, this image was originally intended as the front cover of the native US issue. However, due to record company intervention this image became part of the inner gatefold.

GRADING (also refer photos)
Cover:
front: EX laminated with a beautiful appearance: minimal handling wear including light ring-wear (mainly top & bottom—hard to detect).
back: VG+ matt finish, moderate handling wear with some ring-wear (mainly top).
Record:
Side 1: visual: FAIR still retains some lustre despite NUMEROUS scuffs and surface scratches. Regrettably there is a significant scratch across tracks 2-8; audible: FAIR surface noise/crackle, occasional pops and a bit clicky in places. The scratch across tracks 2-8 causes a loud tick as the stylus passes over (real shame). DESPITE THE FLAWS, THIS SIDE PLAYS THROUGH WITHOUT ANY JUMPS OR SKIPS; labels: very light spindle wear.

Side 2: visual: VG- still retains some lustre despite NUMEROUS superficial scuffs and surface scratches; audible: VG surface noise/crackle and the occasional pop throughout, however the music still dominates. DESPITE THE FLAWS, THIS SIDE PLAYS THROUGH WITHOUT ANY JUMPS OR SKIPS; labels: very light spindle wear.
I DO NOT NORMALLY LIST ITEMS IN THIS CONDITION. HOWEVER, THE AUSSIE MONO ISSUE OF THIS ALBUM IS HORRENDOUSLY RARE. THEREFORE, I WILL LET YOU DECIDE WHAT YOU THINK IT IS WORTH. LOW STARTING PRICE, SO PLEASE BID WITH CONFIDENCE!
